Cocos Dive is a family operated business
- your hosts, Dieter Gerhard and Karen Willshaw, extend a warm
welcome to guests visiting Cocos (Keeling) Islands for diving
and also to their non-diving partners and friends.
Cocos Dive has been operating
under the same management since January 1993. In January 2000
Dieter and Karen assumed the day-to-day running of Cocos Dive
and now personally ensure the service and diving you receive
is second to none. It is their aim to provide you with the
type of diving you enjoy whether it be big fish, nudibranchs
or marvelling over the wonderful corals gardens that surround
this amazing atoll. After all, it is YOUR holiday!
Dieter and Karen's love of
diving shows through their knowledge of the various dive sites
visited, the meticulous care of the environment and the behaviour
of the many marine creatures who have made Cocos (Keeling)
Islands their home.
Dieter learnt to dive on Cocos
when he first moved to Cocos in 1990. Dieter soon realised
the need to have an on-island diving instructor, so he commenced
and completed his instructor rating with NASDS. Dieter now
teaches under the SSI training agency as an Advanced Open Water
Instructor.
After moving to Cocos in late
1999, Karen was encouraged by Dieter to take up diving, a decision
she has never regretted. Her greatest passion is photography
and documenting the undersea and earthscape life that abound
the atoll. Visit Karen's
gallery of Cocos and order her coffee table book, "Reflections
of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands". |
